Updated the APC layout removing the headphone socket and making it look a bit nicer. Also increased the size of the holes for the pots which were too small in the previous design. Will go out to fab shortly.
I’ve been playing with Gregory Charvat’s Can Radar design. While there are kits available, there doesn’t appear to be an open hardware layout. So I figured I’d have a go at putting one together. Below is the first rev. It uses the XR2206 which is no longer manufactured, but if you scratch around can still be found. Hopefully I’ll be able to get this version up and running then migrate the ramp generator to a different IC.
I picked some of these Piezo stages up on eBay. They appear to be an OEM design with ~15 microns of travel and I believe a 150v drive voltage. They’re obviously designed for some kind of optics application.
Here’s a video of it in action with the covers removed. The calipers are set at 0.5mm. I’m using a 0 to 150v square wave to drive the Y axis at 4Hz.
